About Us
The Thetford Business Forum (TBF) has been set up by a group of local businesses and other interested
parties with a shared interested in working together as one voice to assist with moving Thetford
forward.
Objectives of the forum
- For businesses and local bodies to work together to improve the economic prospects of the Thetford area
- A coherent approach to planning and development input
- To educate business on the developments in the area
- Networking opportunity just for local businesses
- Engage with the community including schools and other bodies
Mission Statement
The Thetford Business Forum is made up of like minded local business people and key decision makers who
help to drive the economy of Thetford and the surrounding areas.
The town was once the ancient capital of East Anglia and is known today as the gateway to Norfolk. Over the next fifteen years, with the award of Growth Point Status, the town is set for a period of sustainable growth and prosperity creating business and employment opportunities. Thetford will become a dynamic service and economic centre for the Eastern region. The Thetford Business Forum is committed to supporting that growth in a controlled and beneficial way to ensure a good quality of life for all.
Subscription to the forum is open to any business based in or operating from Thetford and its surrounding area. Whilst it does provide an ideal networking environment for all businesses from the sole trader to the multinational, attendee qualification is primarily based around wanting to be part of a group that is dedicated to support the town and its local economy.
The forum currently has 60 signed up supporters and a waiting list of businesses wanting to join. Venue size limits the number of attendees to the breakfast; the group is currently looking at a bigger venue.
